PUBLIC BUDGET HEARING

Thursday November 21, 2024 6:00 p.m.

Call to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chair Bartow

Motion to approve agenda by Brockway 2^nd by Morris, motion carried

            Comment was made that agenda was not posted on our website. That was not correct, the agenda was properly posted on the town website

            Comment that brake muffler signs were not erected. That was not correct, signs were up almost 3 weeks before this meeting.

Chair Bartow went through 2025 budget by line item, explained or gave reasons for budget financial figures. Motion to approve 2025 budget by Brockway 2^nd by Morris motion carried

Motion to adjourn the public budget hearing by Brockway 2^nd by Morris motion carried

Call to order the Special Town Meeting of Town Electors Meeting at 6:21 p.m.

Motion to approve agenda by Brockway 2^nd by Morris motion carried

Chair Bartow explained how Town levy is decided by Richland County. Motion to approve town levy for 2025 by Barbara Voyce 2^nd by Marie Nelson motion carried

Clerk made a statement when comes to the next item that the electors keep in mind that whether they favor or disfavor compensation for officials the township still has to be ran according to state statutes and should not let personal feelings dictate how they vote.

          Compensation for Town officials:  Different options were presented by electors.

              1^st Option   Motion by Sarah Mani 2^nd by Barb Voyce to approve following option

1. Chair position $4000. Per year No meeting per diem; registration fees and mileage paid for training events
2. Clerk position $9,000 per year no meeting per diem; registration fees and milage paid for training events
3. Treasurer position $5,000 per year no meeting per diem; registration fees and milage paid for training events
4. Supervisor positions $2,000 per year salary   no meeting per diem; registration fees and   mileage paid for education event

Motion was defeated by electors.  Town officials did not vote

            2^nd Option Motion by Marie Nelson 2^nd by Sebranek to leave salaries and per diem the

                                 Same as 2024.    

                          a. Chair position $1500 per year with $40 per diem for qualified meeting,  

                               registration fees paid for training events, no mileage

                          b. Clerk position $7000 per year with $40 per diem for qualified meeting,

                               registration fees paid for training events, no milage

                          c.  Supervisors’ positions, $1200 per year with $40.00 per diem for qualified   

                               meeting, registration fees paid for training events, no mileage

                          d.    Treasurer $7000 per year with $40.00 per diem for qualified meeting,     

                               Registration fees paid for training events, no mileage. Motion passed by     

                           Town electors, Town officials did not vote

Motion to adjourn Special town meeting of electors by Mani, 2^nd by B. Voyce motion carried

Call to order Special Town Board meeting by Bartow

Motion to approve agenda by Brockway 2^nd by Morris motion carried

Motion to approve Buena Vista Township 2025 Budget by Brockway 2^nd by Bartow motion carried.

Motion to adjourn the electors meeting by Brockway 2^nd by Morris motion carried
